School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash allayed the concerns of students regarding not being able to secure college admissions with the board result evaluation formula using Class 10 marks.
Odisha students are protesting over the evaluation formula for the Class 12 board results, in fear that the they would not be able to secure admission in colleges with the marks obtained in Class 10. School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash however allayed their concerns and said there would be no shortage of seats and that college seats would be increased if required. “Under our department, we have approximately 6.03 lakh seats in 2,302 government and private colleges, including ITIs (industrial training institutes). Therefore, there is no need to worry,” the minister said, as per PTI.
