Odisha schools will be reopening from February 07, 2022 for Classes eight to 12, while students from Class seven can attend the school February 14 onwards.
Odisha schools will be reopening from February 7 for Classes eight to 12 as the Covid-19 cases are declining in the state. Besides schools, universities, colleges, and other technical education institutions and hostels will be reopened too. Students of Class seven can attend the schools from February 14 onwards.
A few days ago, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore released a statement for governments across the globe to keep schools open amid the Covid-19 pandemic as students cannot wait for more. “As the Omicron variant of Covid-19 continues its spread all over the world, we urge governments to do everything in their power to keep it from further disrupting children’s education," said UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta Fore.
Therefore, several states in the country have decided to reopen schools from February 1 or the first week of February. State governments have allowed the reopening of schools from next month in Telangana, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Haryana, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh among others.
