
NSRCEL gives grants to ten women-led start-ups

The event saw the launch of Incubation II and Women in Tech Scale Programme I along with the distribution of a grant worth ₹1 lakh each to ten women ventures from NSRCEL’s fifth cohort.
NSRCEL, the incubation arm of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), in collaboration with Kotak Mahindra Bank, hosted an event that focused on unlocking growth for women-led startups.
The event saw the launch of Incubation II and Women in Tech Scale Programme I along with the distribution of a grant worth ₹1 lakh each to ten women ventures from NSRCEL’s fifth cohort.
Incubation II is a tailored five-month programme crafted to track the survival and sustainability of the ventures, while Women Tech Scale is a three-month programme aimed towards women entrepreneurs operating in Technology and Product market fit.
The session brought together entrepreneurs, government officials, industry experts and mentors to discuss the challenges faced by women founders and the mentorship provided by NSRCEL.
Malvika R. Harita, Member of the Board of Governors IIMB and mentor at NSRCEL talked about the growth journey of NSRCEL. “We are the largest incubator in the country with 13 programmes supporting every stage of the entrepreneurial journey. We have incubated over 599 ventures with a combined valuation of $7.27 billion and created around 6,000 jobs,” she said.
Harita urged women founders to combine passion with a clear plan, embrace failure and remain grounded while being ambitious.
Upasana Taku, Co-founder at Mobikwik, shared her trajectory of hailing from a small-town girl, securing a seat at Stanford University and becoming the co-founder of the digital payment platform.
