Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh said that by the end of the year, NRA plans to conduct a computer-based online Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment to non-gazetted positions.
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh, on Sunday, said that from this year, there will be Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment for non-gazetted posts starting this year, while adding that such tests are set to be held before the year's end. While chairing a joint meeting of all six autonomous bodies under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the MoS informed that the National Recruitment Agency (NRA) is preparing to conduct a computer-based online CET for non-gazetted posts by the end of the year.
MoS for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh went on to remark that CET is a path-breaking reform being carried out by the DoPT to bring ‘ease of recruitment’ for young job aspirants.
He added that it will prove to be a major boon for the youth, particularly for those living in faraway and remote areas.
The MoS further remarked that this reform will give a level playing filed for all candidates, irrespective of their background or socioeconomic status.
Women and Divyang applicants, as well as those who find it financially unaffordable to appear for many tests by travelling to multiple centres, will benefit greatly, the minister informed further.
The CET will first be held in 12 languages that include Hindi and English, while adding that it will later add all the languages included in the 8th Schedule of the constitution, according to MoS Jitendra Singh.
