Nia Sharma, in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, spoke about dealing with trolls and why she decided to take up Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10. She also spoke about Bigg Boss.
Nia Sharma is one of the participants for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 this year. The actress is known to be a good dancer, but with Jhalak, she is aiming to take professional guidance to take her skills a notch higher. During an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, we asked Nia about what made her say yes to Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa this year and if she has learnt to deal with trolls over the years.
About participating in Jhalak, Nia shared with IndiaToday.in, “I stayed away from reality shows for a long time, but Jhalak is not just a reality show. It's a vibe, it's an aura. And it's a stage where every actor who wants to make it big also wants to be on that stage. It is that stage where you feel powerful, where you feel big, where you feel like you've done something in your life. And this is exactly what happened when, for the first time, I entered that stage. For the first time when I saw such a grand set of challenges, I really had tears in my eyes. I cannot tell you what I felt. And I've never felt so beautiful and so powerful in my life.”
She continued, “Jhalak was on my number one priority list. I always wanted to do this. It was bad that it disappeared for five years, but I'm so glad that I got a call this year and I told them upfront that I wanted to do this show. I told them that they might have the entire world to do the show for them, but ‘please take me.’
Nia spoke about trolls and said that it never bothered her. “I have always had that but it never bothered me. If anything, it just made me famous, and I enjoyed the attention. Because it never became a hindrance in my life. I never stopped getting work. Nobody stopped giving me work because I was getting trolled or something. So that never came in my way. Honestly, I was just being talked about everywhere, so there was nothing to lose. But at the same time, I just wanted to make a mark apart from being talked about only for my looks and what I do and the fashion disasters that I do. I wanted to be known for the hard work that I put into my things and so this show will bring out that side of mine where everybody will not just see a Nia who's all about her looks but for what she's bringing to the table.
Every year, one name that remains constant for Bigg Boss is Nia. When asked if she is interested in being a part of the reality show, Nia said, “I am not. I don’t know how my name comes up every time. Right now, it is not. But, never say never.”
