'Never say never', Ranbir Kapoor shares if he will ever star in Korean show remakes

Ranbir Kapoor has opened up about his plan to star in a Korean show remake. In an exclusive interview, the actor said, "Never say never."

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Shamshera. The film marks Ranbir's return to movies after a period of four years. In his career spanning 15 years, Ranbir has played a wide variety of characters on the big screen. And now, he will be seen playing a double role in Shamshera for the first time. Recently, in an interview with IndiaToday.in, Ranbir was asked if he would be open to doing a remake of a Korean show. To which, the actor said that he might consider it if there is an official remake.

While Ranbir seemed open to the idea of doing a Korean show remake, the actor said that we need to give a chance to original content.

"I am always about the subject matter. If the story is good, the character is good and if it is an official remake, then never say never. Now, there is a time in the industry where remake is an overused word - the South remake, the music remake, this remake or that remake. So, you try to be as original as you can because there are so many original thoughts. There are so many new talents coming in. Now, with OTT, they are also getting the opportunity. So, let's give a chance to original content. Remakes toh remakes rahenge hi," Ranbir told IndiaToday.in.

Ranbir's film, Shamshera, is all set to release in cinemas on July 22, 2022. Also starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, the film is directed by Karan Malhotra and backed by Yash Raj Films. Besides Shamshera, RK has Brahmastra, Animal and an untitled film with Shraddha Kapoor lined up.
