Bigg Boss has given us some iconic moments from its inception and it just never stops. Ahead of BB 16, here's looking at some of those unforgettable moments of the TV reality show.
What is Bigg Boss without its controversies? Honestly, nothing! Every season of BB has been associated with spats and relationship rumours. Bigg Boss has made you cry, it has made you angry, and sometimes you must have laughed at some of the most absurd moments on the show. And this time, with the 16th season around the corner, the hype has already started! The first promo of the Salman Khan-hosted TV reality show dropped on September 11, with an interesting twist. Ahead of Bigg Boss 16, let's take a look back at some masala moments from the show that left its voracious viewers wanting more drama.
On Bigg Boss 14, Rahul Vaidya stirred up controversy when he accused Jaan Kumar Sanu of being a product of nepotism. He had said, "I would like to nominate Jaan Kumar Sanu because I hate nepotism. Whoever has come on the show, they've come on the basis of their hard work. Jaan is on the show because he is someone's son." Rahul's remark did not go down well with the other inmates, who bashed him for using the word.
Jaan reacted by saying, "I'm fortunate that Mr Kumar Sanu is my father. Not everybody is that lucky. Unfortunate for you." Jaan then said that his mother was the one who raised him after his parents separated, and his father, Kumar Sanu supported him after seeing his talent. He said, “For me, my mother is both my mom and dad. My parents separated when my mother was six months pregnant with me. Since childhood, I have been with my mother. She is both my mom and dad. I was worried before coming here about who would take care of her."
This is perhaps one of the most bizarre moments on Bigg Boss. During a captaincy task, Swami Om stored his own pee in a bottle and then threw it at a group of contestants including Bani J. He was immediately asked to leave the house. Self-proclaimed godman and Brahmachari, he was also known for ogling at women in the house! He died on February 3 last year at the age of 63.
Bigg Boss 5 contestant Pooja Misra was eliminated for exactly this - her behaviour! In an episode that is remembered even now, contestant Shonali Nagrani asked her to keep the wiper back after she finished dusting. Pooja had a severe meltdown after that, which gave birth to several viral memes. She smashed the wiper and screamed, “Get. Off. My. Back." A broken piece missed hurting another contestant in the kitchen. What’s more? She even introduced the popular phrase, “Talk to my hand.”
Dolly Bindra was one of the loudest and the most annoying contestants in the history of Bigg Boss. She appeared in the fourth season and loved yelling at everyone and everything! More than a typical Delhi guy, we saw her yelling, “Baap pe na ja,” over and over again. In one of the fights, she refused to serve eggs to Manoj Tiwari because she wanted the leftovers to be finished first. When Manoj said, “Kitchen kisi ke baap ka nahi hai," Dolly got the chance to use her favourite dialogue, "Baap pe jaana nahi.” And it went on.
