Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that NEP 2020 is a knowledge document of the 21st century.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attended a roundtable on the Implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) on Saturday, at Symbiosis International University Pune. Addressing the event, the union education minister remarked that NEP 2020 is a knowledge document of the 21st century. He went on to say that NEP 2020 aims to promote the overall development of an individual and has the objective of making education accessible to everyone.
The education minister further remarked that India has become the epicenter of the knowledge-based economy and India has a significant contribution to the global economy.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan further added that India’s academic fraternity has a huge role to play to ensure a rightful place for India in the new world.
He stated that how well India harmonises with technology and automation and gaining new skills will define India’s readiness for future work and leadership in the emerging new global order.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan further underlined that the Indian education system had been rigid in the past.
He went on to say that multidisciplinary and holistic education was a challenge but NEP 2020 has made it possible to make teaching and learning more vibrant, inclusive, flexible, and multi-disciplinary.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan went on to remark that education is the new reality while urging the teaching fraternity to build new academic dynamics and come forward for developing quality e-learning content, developing SOPs to ensure online learning is not limited to exploitative market forces, and protecting against data imperialism.
