NCSC reviews the reservation policy at Kalpakkam's atomic energy units, ensuring effective implementation and addressing concerns with officials.
The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) reviewed the implementation of the reservation policy in Department of Atomic Energy units in Kalpakkam on Tuesday.
NCSC member Vaddepalli Ramachander, and Director, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) and General Services Organisation Sreekumar G. Pillai were present. The member held discussions with heads of key units, including Madras Atomic Power Station, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Facilities, Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited and senior officials.
He interacted with office-bearers of the SC/ST Employees Association at Kalpakkam and expressed satisfaction with the implementation, according to a press release.

“Judicial time is a valuable public resource. Every frivolous or misconceived invocation of constitutional jurisdiction results in diversion of time from genuinely deserving litigants,” said the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court while imposing a cost of ₹50,000 on a man from Theni district who filed a petition with an unusual prayer: permission to conduct daily protests till the ‘World War’ ends.
