
MPs seek answer on education of Ukraine return students, govt says will look into measures

The MPs in both the houses of the parliament sought answers from the government on the education of students returning from Ukraine, while the government said it will be taking necessary measures.
Several MPs in both houses of the parliament raised questions about the future of education for students returning from war-hit Ukraine. The MPs from both houses urged the government to take steps to ensure that these students complete their studies. Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also said that a large number of students from India were in need of being evacuated due to the prevailing situation there.
He stated further, "This was a very challenging task. The Government of India rose to the occasion by evacuating Indian students as well as some students of other nationalities."
"These efforts are praiseworthy," he added.
Informing other MPs, he said that the concerned minister would make a statement on the issue while other members can seek clarification.
Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar (TDP) raised a question during Zero Hour in the house and noted that several students had moved to Ukraine in search of medical education.
Adding further, he remarked that even though students' safety and security has been ensured, their future is still at risk and the government needs to take steps necessary to protect their future.
On similar lines, KC Venugopal (Congress) remarked that students coming back from Ukraine are in a dire situation while their families are also worried about their future.
