Amar Upadhyay recently took to social media to share a post by a fan revealing how his show Molkki had a positive impact on a village in Rajasthan. Molkki is a custom where poor girls marry a wealthy man in exchange for money.
Colors TV show Molkki is among the most loved shows right now. It deals with a social issue. The show is based on a real-life custom where girls from poor families are married off to wealthy men in exchange for money. Even though it is illegal, many regions in the country follow it. On Molkki, Amar Upadhyay plays the role of Virendra Pratap Singh and Priyal Mahajan is seen as Purvi. Recently, Amar took to social media to share a fan's note about how the custom of Molkki in a Rajasthan village stopped after the villagers watched the show. The fan said that he showed the serial to the villagers and the panchayat along with the rest of the villagers liked it. They also learnt a lesson from the show and decided to stop the custom of Molkki in their village. The fan's note read, “Hello Amar sir and saba mam i am kalpesh from Rajasthan who is big fan of Amar sir and molkki i want to say that since very long.. in rajasthan still molkki pratha is running but the good thing is in my village thar now this pratha is stop because of this serial. Actually mene ek din decide kiya tha ki me ye serial Hamare panchayat walo ko dikhou and mene kiya.. start me wo nhi maane (I decided one day to show this serial to the panchayat here. At first, they didn't agree) but after some days they call me again in panchayat to tell that you are right and now we decide that this pratha is now stop in our village this is a very big achievement of this serial thank you for making this serial and they like Amar sir character a lot they also want to be like virendra pratap singh (sic).”More Related News
