Sri Varasidhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple at Kanipakam is an 11th-century Lord Ganapathy temple in Andhra Pradesh.
The old chariot's wheels were kept with other scrap materials about half-a-kilometer away from the temple. It was found burnt.
Temple security personnel examined CCTV cameras in the vicinity of the temple to identify the miscreants.
Chittoor Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) said that they have not received any complaints from the temple authorities so far.
The temple executive officer (EO), in a statement, said that all the belongings related to the temple chariots are stored in the sheds carefully and taken care of.

The matter pertains to a petition filed by one Nikhil Kumar Punia, who was born into an upper-caste Hindu family but supposedly converted to Buddhism later. He, along with another General Category candidate, has sought minority reservation benefits for admission to a Buddhist medical college on grounds of their purported conversion.

It has prompted a policy shift mandating a switch from LPG to piped natural gas (PNG) where available. With supply constraints looming, the government is fast-tracking pipelines and pushing a nationwide transition to strengthen energy security.
