Union minister Smriti Irani launched a veiled attack on Nitish Kumar. Taking a swipe at the Bihar CM, Smriti Irani said that there are several aspirants for the post of prime minister.

Union Minister of Women and Child development Smriti Irani launched a veiled attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming that there are several people in the race to become the prime minister.

Without naming the Bihar CM, Smriti Irani said, “The only motive of our political rival (read Nitish Kumar) is how they can grab power in 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This is their only target."

The Union minister further took potshots at Nitish Kumar for breaking the alliance with the BJP and returning to Mahagathbandhan. Smriti Irani claimed that his political character had become a talking point not only in Bihar, but across the country.

"Narendra Modi is repeatedly attacked in Bihar by people who themselves need support to form the government. Political rivals in Bihar constantly criticise a person who has been accepted has "sevak" in the country. PM is criticized by a person whose character is not only talked about in Bihar but across the country," Smriti Irani said in veiled attack on the Bihar CM.

Raising the recent incident of Begusarai shootout where a person was killed and 10 others injured, Smriti Irani said the present PM's political opponents in the state were only bothered about how they can grab power in 2024 Lok Sabha election.

"This is the only target of our political opponents in Bihar- how to grab power in 2024. I would like to tell such people who themselves are seeking support that there may be many in the race to become Prime Minister, but there is only Narendra Modi who aspires to become the Pradhan Sevak of the country. In 2024 Prime Minister will again return to power", Smriti Irani said.
