Mandal Revenue Inspector in Nalgonda arrested for demanding ₹20,000 bribe, caught by Anti Corruption Bureau.
A Mandal Revenue Inspector from Gurrampode mandal in Nalgonda district was caught red handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on February 2, while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 for extending an official favour.
The accused, Mohammed Abdul Hakeem, was trapped at around 1 p.m. in the premises of the Mandal Revenue Office after he allegedly demanded the amount from the complainant to process and forward an application to the Tahsildar for restoration of deleted land details in the online 1-B Register.
ACB officials said that the tainted bribe amount of ₹20,000 was recovered from accused officer at his instance.
The accused is being arrested and produced before the I Additional Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB Cases Court in Hyderabad. Further investigation is underway. The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
The ACB has appealed to the public to report any demand for bribes by public servants through its toll free number 1064. The agency can also be contacted through WhatsApp at 9440446106 and on social media platforms including Facebook and X under Telangana ACB. Officials said the identity of complainants would be kept confidential.
