Academy Award–winning composer and global music icon AR Rahman is all set to bring his much-anticipated ‘The Wonderment Tour’ to Chennai on Valentine’s Day, February 14. The open stadium concert follows a highly successful international run across the UK, USA, Canada, and the UAE, after the tour premiered in Mumbai to an audience of over 50,000 fans.
The concert is expected to revisit some of the legendary musician’s iconic compositions, reimagined through contemporary live arrangements that span his Tamil classics, film music, independent works, and international collaborations. Apart from performances with a curated ensemble of musicians and vocalists, the evening will also feature special surprise acts, the organisers have announced.
Notably, the organisers have also decided to provide free Metro Rail passes to all ticket holders to encourage smooth and sustainable travel to the venue.
Chennai and Rahman is a love story on its own, and so the upcoming concert holds a special place in the composer’s journey and the tour’s India leg.
The Chennai edition of The Wonderment Tour is organised by Noise and Grains in association with Jo Entertainment and Fairgame Entertainment. The concert also marks 10 years of Noise and Grains and its second collaboration with Rahman after the 2016 concert ‘Nenje Ezhu.’
