LPG carrier BW ELM is en route to Mangaluru, carrying 94,000 tonnes of cargo, says the Union Ministry.
The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Sunday that of the two LPG carriers, BW TYR and BW ELM, carrying combined LPG cargo of about 94,000 tonnes and that have safely transited West Asian region, the BW ELM is en route to New Mangalore Port.
The vessel is expected to arrive in Mangaluru on April 1, the ministry said.
It said that the BW TYR was proceeding towards Mumbai with an expected time of arrival on March 31.
A total of 18 Indian-flagged vessels with 485 Indian seafarers remain in the western Persian Gulf region. The Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping), in coordination with ship owners, RPSL (Recruitment and Placement Services License) agencies, and Indian Missions, is actively monitoring the situation, the ministry said.
Port operations across India remain normal, with no congestion reported, it said.
The ministry said all Indian seafarers in the region are safe, and no incident involving Indian-flagged vessels has been reported in the past 24 hours. Necessary measures have been instituted to ensure the safety and security of Indian vessels and seafarers operating in the region, it said.
