Arrangements in place for filing of nominations

Nominations for 12 Assembly constituencies in Thoothukudi and Kanniyakumari districts begin Monday with all arrangements finalized.
The filing of nominations for the 12 Assembly constituencies, six each in Kanniyakumari and Thoothukudi district commences on Monday, with all necessary arrangements in place.
In Thoothukudi district, returning officers have been appointed for all six constituencies and nomination can be filed at respective taluk, Revenue Divisional Offices and sub collector office, including those in Vilathikulam, Thoothukudi, Tiruchendur, Kovilpatti, Ottapidaram and Srivaikuntam. All required arrangements, including the availability of nomination forms and related documents, have been completed in advance.
Elaborate supervision has been made at the six constituencies under the supervision of Thoothukudi Superintendent of Police C. Madhan.
Nominations can be filed between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and if a large number of candidates arrives before the closing time, tokens will be issued to ensure that all are allowed to submit their papers.
As per the guidelines, vehicles accompanying candidates will be stopped 100 metres away and only three vehicles will be permitted inside the premises. Only the candidate and four others will be allowed into the returning officers’ room.
In Kanniyakumari district, returning officers have been appointed for all the six constituencies and candidates can file their nominations at designated places for each constituency. For Kanniyakumati constituency, nominations can be filed at Boothapandi taluk office, RDO office in Nagercoil for Nagercoil constituency, Block Development Office in Kurunthancode for Colachel constituency, sub collector office in Padmanabhapuram for Padmanabhapuram constituency, Vilavancode taluk office for Vilavancode constituency and Killiyoor taluk office for Killiyoor constituency.
