Kerala woman alleges gangrape in Palani, husband claims police refused to lodge complaint

A woman from Kerala’s Kannur was allegedly abducted and gangraped in Tamil Nadu’s Palani on June 20. Her husband has claimed that he had approached the Palani Police, but they refused to help him or register his complaint. The couple had gone to Palani on June 19 as part of a pilgrimage. According to the husband, they were attacked on June 20 when they stepped out of their room to buy food. The husband alleged that three masked men ambushed the couple and took the woman to the adjacent room, where she was gangraped.
