‘KD: The Devil’, set to release on April 30, was recently faced backlash for one if its song, which was criticised for being “vulgar” and disrespectful to women by fans and people from film fraternity
The makers of KD: The Devil, directed by Prem and starring Dhruva Sarja, announced the casting of superstar Kichcha Sudeep in the movie. The Kannada film, to be released in multiple languages, was recently in a controversy over a song.
“Some names create fear. This name chaos,” wrote KVN Productions on social media. The banner, behind pan-India projects such as Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups and Jana Nayagan, is bankrolling KD: The Devil.
Sudeep is set to play Kaala Bhairava. The makers announced the development with a character poster. William David is the cinematographer for the movie. Mohan B Kere is the art director.
KD: The Devil fell into a massive controversy over the song ‘Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse’. The song was slammed on social media as “vulgar”. People from film fraternity and movie buffs criticised the song, describing that the lyrics was disrespectful to women.

In a surprising turn of events, Urvashi theatre, one of Bengaluru’s iconic single screens, has re-opened, with the much-talked-about Dhurandhar: The Revenge running to a full house in the theatre. After the expiry of the 45-year lease, it seemed like curtains would come down on the king-size theatre but for now, it’s good news for fans.
