Tamil actor Soori has teamed up with director R Ravikumar (Of Indru Netru Naalai and Ayalaan fame) for his upcoming film, tentatively called Soori 07. The film is produced by Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers.
Soori shared a special poster to announce the news. It features a man holding an aruvamanai (a traditional South Indian kitchen tool used for cutting vegetables) and standing inside a flooded house.
A calendar in the background hints that the film might be set during the 2015 South India floods, which caused a lot of devastation in Chennai and neighbouring districts. “Blood followed the flood” is written as the tagline on the poster.
Very happy to share my next project with Mythri Movie Makers one of the finest and most trusted production houses in India.Grateful to Y. Ravi Shankar sir and Naveen Yerneni sir for the trust and love. 😍🙏Glad to work with my director @Ravikumar_Dir a talented and sincere… pic.twitter.com/kJkVx8kOYz
Soori, having successfully transitioned from a comedian to a hero, has been in great form following the success of Viduthalai, Kottukkaali, and Maaman. The actor also has Mandaadi, directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, currently in production. Ravikumar, on the other hand, is known for his sci-fi films, such as the time-machine film Indru Netru Naalai and Ayalaan, the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer that revolved around the titular alien.
