Karan Malhotra reacts to Shamshera's comparison with KGF, Game of Thrones

Shamshera director Karan Malhotra has finally reacted to the film's comparison with Yash-starrer KGF and Game of Thrones. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.

Three more days for Shamshera’s release and we can’t keep calm! The movie marks Ranbir Kapoor’s three-year hiatus from films after the 2018 blockbuster, Sanju. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in key roles. Ever since Shamshera’s trailer release, the film has been compared to Yash’s KGF and Game of Thrones. Director Karan shared his take on the comparisons the film’s been receiving at a press conference in Delhi.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in the lead, Shamshera releases on July 22. At a press conference held in Delhi on July 19, Karan spoke about the constant comparison Shamshera received with KGF and Game of Thrones. He said, “Game of Thrones se comparison karna achi baat hain aur KGF, wo bhi chalega. Compare bhi tab kijiye jab dekh li ho picture. I think that way you’ll get a clearer perspective and be the best judge. Hopefully when they watch the film, they enjoy it and not cast the shadow of any other project on Shamshera.”

Shamshera releases on July 22. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Shamshera is produced by Yash Raj Films. It is reportedly set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. In Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger-than-life quintessential Hindi film hero for the first time in his career.
