JD(U) responds to Kejriwal's letter, praises Nitish Kumar's work for oppressed communities, criticizes Congress, and defends Amit Shah.
Responding to former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Janata Dal (United) said the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc parties cannot even imagine the kind of work done by Mr. Kumar for oppressed communities. JD(U) national working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Kumar Jha said in a response to Mr. Kejriwal here on Friday that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had revealed the pages of history, which Congress leader Rahul Gandhi does not want to see.
In his letter to Mr. Kumar, Mr. Kejriwal asked the Bihar Chief Minister to make his stand clear regarding Amit Shah’s statement allegedly demeaning Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Mr. Jha said he read Mr. Kejriwal’s letter and added that he could understand the “pain” of the Aam Aadmi Party leader that Mr. Shah was exposing INDIA bloc leader Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party, and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. “The misbehaviour that the Congress Party and its leaders did to Baba Saheb is unforgivable,” Mr. Jha said in the letter. He said former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru campaigned against Dr. Ambedkar in every election.
He said what AAP and INDIA bloc leaders cannot even imagine what Mr. Kumar has done for the Dalits and backward classes in Bihar, by following in the footsteps of Dr. Ambedkar. “I urge you to leave your prejudices and think positively about the progress of the country. The Constitution of this country is very strong,” Mr. Jha said.
