Ivan Reitman, the influential filmmaker and producer behind beloved comedies from “Animal House” to “Ghostbusters,” has died. He was 75.
Reitman died peacefully in his sleep Saturday night at his home in Montecito, Calif., his family said.
“Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life,” children Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman and Caroline Reitman said in a joint statement.

In a surprising turn of events, Urvashi theatre, one of Bengaluru’s iconic single screens, has re-opened, with the much-talked-about Dhurandhar: The Revenge running to a full house in the theatre. After the expiry of the 45-year lease, it seemed like curtains would come down on the king-size theatre but for now, it’s good news for fans.
