iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max were the world's best-selling phones in Q1 2022, as per IDC

According to the information shared by IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max reportedly gained the top two spots in the list of phones that were sold mostly in the first three months of 2022.

It seems that Apple and Samsung are the two most loved smartphone brands as these two companies reportedly sold most number of handsets in the first quarter of 2022. According to the information shared by IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max reportedly gained the top two spots in the list of phones that were sold mostly in the first three months of 2022.

Surprisingly, the list doesn’t include popular phones by OnePlus, Xiaomi and Realme. The list that Jeronimo has shared on Twitter reveals the names of the top-five best-selling smartphones with iPhone 13 being on the top. It is followed by the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The price of the Max model is more than Rs 1 Lakh in India, which suggests that people are willing to pay a high price to get the best of everything.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max is currently selling in India for Rs 1,29,900. The regular iPhone 13 model has a starting price of Rs 72,990. The iPhone 13 Pro also managed to grab the fourth spot in the list. It is available in the country for Rs 1,19,900. The credit for the sale of the iPhone 13 series likely goes to the lucrative bank and exchange offers given by online and offline retailers.

The tweet also asserts that Apple reportedly made around $42 billion (approximately Rs 3,26,224 crore) with the sale of iPhone 13 series in just one quarter alone. This reportedly accounted for up to 84 per cent of the iPhone sales in Q1 2022.

Samsung, on the other hand, earned $3.6 billion (roughly Rs. 27,963 crore) in the first quarter of this year, according to IDC. The list includes only two Samsung phones the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A32. Both are budget smartphones that have managed to garner third and fifth spots on the list. The Galaxy A12 is available online for Rs 12,999, whereas the Galaxy A32 is being sold for Rs 21,990.
