Instagram has started testing advertisements on its 30-second-long video format Reels in select few countries, including India. The Facebook-owned service also plans to bring other updates to users soon.
Instagram has started testing ads on Reels in countries including India, Brazil, Germany, and Australia. Though ads can be seen in almost all other features of Instagram, the TikTok-like feature of the app had been bereft of advertisements pushed by the platform to date. The upcoming ads on Reels would look much like the ones seen on Instagram Stories, of course, in a video format. Once tested in the mentioned countries first, the ads will be rolled out to the rest of the world in the coming months. Instagram Reels ads will be up to 30-seconds long and would work just like a regular Reels video. The vertically spaced ads will support like, and comment options and will even let you save, share or skip them, functions that are missing on ads seen on Instagram Stories.
