Hyundai’s advanced all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 5 will be displayed in the flesh for the first time ahead of its launch.
Visitors to The Bullring in central Birmingham from 23 to 25 April will be among the first in Britain to see Hyundai’s innovative all-electric IONIQ 5. Touted as one of the most advanced all-electric vehicles available when it goes on sale, it is capable of ultra-fast charging while boasting a range of sustainable luxury features. Revealed in February this year, the IONIQ 5 reminisces the retro looks of the Pony from the ‘70s with geometric lines and a boxy shape mixed with pixilated headlights and tail lamps. It’s the interiors that are more exciting with sustainability in mind. Eco-materials are extensively used in the interior of the IONIQ 5. For example, raw materials extracted from sugar cane are used on the headliner, carpet and seat covers. These aside, it also boasts of tech like its 44” advanced head-up display, giving the tech a whole new meaning. The windshield becomes a display to guide the driver safely. IONIQ 5 is also the first Hyundai with Level 2 autonomous technology. Ultrafast charging means 10% to 80% charge in mere 18 minutes and 5 minutes of charging is good for 100km of range. That’s just what it’ll take people to convert to EVs unless a 5.2 seconds time for 0-100kmph wouldn’t be reason enough. With over 500km of range and 588 litres of luggage space, Hyundai really is committed to entice customers to adopt EVs faster.
