Hyderabad: Upset over husband’s abuse, woman ends life after killing 13-month-old daughter

It is suspected that, unable to cope with the harassment, Deepika first killed her daughter by hanging her from the ceiling fan using a saree and then killed herself.
A 26-year-old woman allegedly killed her 13-month-old daughter and later committed suicide in her house in the Nacharam area on Thursday.
It is alleged that the woman was traumatised due to regular harassment by her husband as he used to demand gold for their daughter from the victim’s parents.
The repeated abuse and torture allegedly forced the victim to take the extreme step.
According to a report published in the Telangana Today, the victim, now deceased, identified as T Deepika got married to T Chandra Shekhar in 2019, following which the couple started living together in Koundinya Nagar in Mallapur.
However, only after a few years of marriage, the couple started having frequent fights and it only increased after the birth of their daughter, as Shekhar started demanding gold for their daughter from the victim’s parents.
As per reports by Telangana Today, it is suspected that, unable to cope with the harassment, Deepika first killed her daughter by hanging her from the ceiling fan using a saree and then killed herself. However, police have not recovered any suicide note from the crime spot.
As per reports by Hans India, Deepika’s parents and relatives have alleged that Chandra killed their daughter and the child.
