
Hero MotoCorp's manufacturing facilities to remain shut till May 9 to break Covid-19 chain

Hero MotoCorp will restart the operations at its plants, Global Parts Centre and Centre of Innovation and Technology on May 10, 2021.
To break the Covid-19 chain, Hero MotoCorp has decided to extend the shutdown at its manufacturing facilities across India as well as Global Parts Centre in Neemrana and R&D facility (Centre of Innovation and Technology) in Jaipur, till May 9, 2021. According to the two-wheeler manufacturer, the plant operations will resume a day later on May 10, 2021. Due to the unprecedented rise in the Covid-19 cases, Hero MotoCorp had halted the plant operations temporarily in a staggered manner for four days from April 22, 2021, till May 1, 2021. The shutdown days were utilised by the company to carry out maintenance work at the manufacturing plants. Hero MotoCorp claimed that all its corporate offices are operating in work-from-home mode and a very small number of employees are allowed in offices on a rotation basis for the continuity of essential services. The company is also continuously monitoring the situation and aims to compensate for the production loss during the remainder of the quarter.
