Halo Infinite battle royale mode seems imminent with new “Last Spartan Standing” leak
India Today
Halo Infinite is set to get a new game mode which will pitch players in a battle royale gameplay, much like what we see in other FPS games. Here are all the hints that have indicated at the upcoming functionality.
About five months ago, Halo Infinite launched as arguably the biggest gaming title of the bygone year. To date, it enjoys a massive gamer base thanks to its multiplayer modes. There has, however, been one missing aspect in the game vis-a-vis other games like Fortnite, and that is a battle royale mode. Fans of the franchisee have been quite vocal about the need to introduce battle royale in the game and it looks like 343 Industries has finally listened to their calls.
Nothing has been officially announced yet. Though several hints have been shared online in recent days, all pointing towards an imminent launch of a battle royale mode on Halo Infinite. The biggest one among these comes in the form of two screenshots on Twitter that show a new mode within the game under the title "Last Spartan Standing."
The new game mode comes as a variation of the Big Team Battle in Halo Infinite. The second screenshot, shared by Twitter account Delta_Hub, provides some description of the new mode. As mentioned in the screenshot, the new game mode will let players enjoy an “Every Spartan for themselves” gameplay, exactly like what we see in the battle royale modes in other games.
The screenshot further mentions - “Level up your loadout by earning personal score to be the last Spartan standing.” To recall, the battle royale mode in any other game like PUBG or Fortnite awards players in a similar manner, on the basis of their ranking within the game.
A report by Givemesport confirms the screenshots shared on Twitter. It mentions that the new game mode on Halo Infinite can still be seen within the custom games offline menu. As per the report, the mode has one 12 minute round, with players fighting to make a score of 50 first. It is possible that 343 Industries bumps this up as the mode turns into a full-fledged battle royale.
Earlier reports had also indicated that a battle royale mode was discovered within the game’s code by some data miners. So we can be assured that the developers are working on introducing such a mode to the game. As and when Halo Infinite gets it, it will have a very important platform to compete with its rival titles, and possibly win the hearts of gamers.
