Gurugram: 6-year-old gets trapped in lift for 2.5 hours, parents allege ‘negligence’ by guards

A 6-year-old boy went out to play in a park but instead he was found trapped in a building lift after two and a half hours.
A 6-year-old boy was trapped inside a lift for two and a half hours in Gurugram at Pyramid Urban Homes on Thursday due to the negligence of security guards posted in the society.
The boy, named Aarav, went out to play in a park at around 8 pm. When Aarav did not return home for a long time, his parents started looking for him and found Aarav trapped in the lift on the third floor.
His parents found him stuck in society’s tower no. 16 malfunctioned lift.
He was rescued from the lift by the society’s technical staff at 10:30 pm, after being trapped for around three hours.
According to the father of the child, Rahul Yadav, a complaint was made to the police but till now no action has been taken against the builder, the guard posted in the society or other people responsible for the negligence.
When the 6-year-old Aarav was asked why he did not press the emergency alarm button while trapped in the lift, he said that his hands did not reach the alarm button.
Aarav’s parents believe that the security guards posted in the society should show some seriousness and be careful.
