Gullak S3's Harsh Mayar says shooting for the series is a vacation on TVF's money

Gullak Season 3 premiered today, April 7 on SonyLiv. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, the cast spoke about their favourite moments and working together as a family.

The Mishra family returned with Gullak Season 3 on SonyLiv. Directed by Palash Vaswani and written by Durgesh Singh, the new season premiered on April 7. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, Gullak's cast - Harsh Mayar, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Jameel Khan and Vaibhav Raj Gupta - opened up on how shooting together felt 'like a vacation funded by TVF'. Harsh is seen as Aman and Vaibhav as Annu, while Geetanjali and Jameel essay the role of Shanti and Santosh Mishra in the TVF series.

Speaking about the new season, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who plays Annu, said, "Aisa lagega ki you have seen it all but there is so much more in a middle-class family. That’s the surprise. I think a bigger surprise is waiting for all of you."

Adding to what Vaibhav shared, Jameel Khan said, "A middle-class family has so many anecdotes, so many relations, neighbours, so many friends and it’s all heart."

Gullak's USP lies in these four actors' camaraderie, beautifully translated on the screen, which is also evident when one speaks to them together. When asked if working together was a picnic on sets, Harsh Mayar, the youngest Mishra, said, "It’s a vacation. Matlab hum TVF ke paiso pe vacation manane jate hain har saal. Unke paise kharch karate hai, vacation karte hain aur beech mein acting bhi kar lete hain aur wapas aa jate hain (We holiday on TVF's money. We spend their money, enjoy our vacation and, in between, we also do some acting)."

Vaibhav shared how they reunited after a year for Gullak and updated each other on what was happening in their lives. He said, "I remember, in the second season, Papa (Jameel Khan) and I bonded well. We used to go for walks on the terrace of our hotel a lot, and Harsh and Papa and I used to engage in conversations."

This was a revelation for Geetanjali Kulkarni, who wasn't aware of this.
