Ahmedabad Rural Court sentenced the accused for killing his sister, her husband and their unborn child. The case took place in Gujarat's Sanand in 2018.
In the honor killing case of Sanand in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat in 2018, Ahmedabad Rural Court on Tuesday sentenced the accused -- the brother of the girl, to death. The man is accused of killing three people; his sister, her husband and their unborn child.
The police had registered a case of murder of three people in this case as the girl and her husband were murdered while the girl was pregnant.
The court sentenced the girl's brother to death after listening to 17 eyewitnesses and taking into account 67 documents.
The duo got married and, due to the fear of being caught, the couple eloped and started living in Sanand. When the girl's brother came to know, he reached her house and attacked them. He stabbed her seven times and attacked his brother-in-law 17 times, killing them on the spot.
The police arrested the accused from the spot. Since the girl was pregnant, the police registered a case of triple murder.
After the murder, the killer, Hardik Chavda, showed no regrets for his actions.
