Green Climate arranges water for birds and animals

Green Climate Team promotes water access for birds and animals, arranging clay pots to support wildlife during summer.
JV Ratnam, founder secretary of Green Climate Team NGO, has called for making water available to livestock. He was speaking after arranging water in clay vessels for birds and animals on the grounds of Alwar Das Degree College at MVP Colony, on Wednesday.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of College principal Jagadish.
Mr. Ratnam said that Green Climate has been working to set up 20,000 clay pots to provide water to birds and animals to quench their thirst during the hot summer months. He appealed to everyone to be considerate towards birds and other animals and make water available to them. He also appealed to the State and Central governments to arrange for provision of water facilities for birds.
He sought for small grains be made available and scattered in the forests, hills and coastal areas during the rainy season so that food is available for the birds and animals. He requested the government to take steps to prevent poaching and hunting of wild animals that come out of the forest for water during the summer season. Mango Man Appaji, Swanthan Seva Sanstha representative Pragyan Kumar, Green Climate Team volunteer J Rajeshwari, lecturers and students of the college participated in the program.
