BJP leader Babulal Marandi met the tribal woman who was tortured by suspended BJP leader Seema Patra. Babulal Marandi said it is good that Seema Patra has been arrested and the party has also removed her.
Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and BJP leader Babulal Marandi on Wednesday met the tribal woman at the hospital who was tortured by now suspended BJP leader Seema Patra. Babulal Marandi hailed the party's decision to remove Seema Patra after a video of Sunita, the tribal domestic help, narrating her ordeal, went viral on social media.
"It's good that Seema Patra has been arrested and the party has also removed her," the BJP leader was quoted by ANI as saying.
Ranchi police arrested suspended BJP leader Seema Patra in the wee hours of Wednesday, the wife of a retired IAS officer, on allegations of torturing her tribal help. Patra had allegedly kept the woman captive in her residence in Ranchi's posh Ashok Nagar area for eight years and also forced her to lick toilet.
"We came here to meet the victim. She is a poor lady and used to work at accused Seema Patra's house. The way she was beaten by her was not right," Babulal Marandi told news agency ANI.
