Former Congress Minister M. Kandasamy meets Rahul Gandhi to discuss political strategy for Puducherry Assembly polls.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader M. Kandasamy met Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to brief him about the prevailing political situation in the Union Territory.
Mr. Kandasamy, who held the portfolio of Adi Dravidar Welfare department in the previous Congress governments in Puducherry, told The Hindu that Mr. Gandhi has urged all workers to strive hard to bring the party back to power in the 2026 Assembly poll in Puducherry.
“Mr. Gandhi said he will visit Puducherry to address the party workers and interact with them. I also briefed him about the political situation, ways to strengthen the Congress party and the importance of INDIA bloc winning the next Assembly election in the U.T. The Congress high command wants the party to wrest power from the AINRC-BJP alliance in the upcoming poll,” the former Minister said.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
