Fire breaks out at oil factory in Rajasthan's Bhilwara; goods worth Rs 60 lakh destroyed

A major fire broke out at an oil factory in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district on Tuesday morning in which goods worth Rs 60 lakh were destroyed. Fire tenders were pressed into service and it took five hours to douse the flames.
A massive fire broke out in the early morning hours of Tuesday at an oil factory in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district in Shahpura area. The fire led to a loss of around Rs 60 lakh worth raw materials. The fire broke out in the factory, located outside Kalijanrigate, at around 6 am in the morning and a smoke cloud had spread over 1 kilometer in the area, triggering panic in the area. The smoke from the fire engulfed the locality and spread to over a kilometer.
At least three fire tenders were rushed to the spot and it took five hours for the officials to douse the flames. As per the preliminary report, the fire destroyed goods and raw materials worth Rs 60 lakh and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
The factory, owned by Mukesh Kumar Ladda, is located near a populated area and when the incident took place, the owner was immediately informed. Upon receiving the information, municipal corporation president Raghunandan Soni reached the spot and called the fire department officials.
Since the nature of the fire was furious, two more fire tenders from Aguncha Mines and Bhilwara were roped in for the rescue operations. Three fire tenders and more than a half dozen water tankers were pressed into service to douse the flames.
The officials had to rope in an earthmover to break down the wall of the factory as the main door was locked. Tehsildar Narayanlal Jeenagar, police station in-charge Ghanshyam Singh Deora and municipal personnel also reached the spot and helped the fire officials in the rescue operation.
On Monday, a big oil container was bought into the godown for clearance whose cost was around Rs 50 lakhs.
