FIR in Gujarat against owners of buffaloes hit by Vande Bharat train

Railway police officers have filed an FIR against the owners of buffaloes which collided with the Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express.
A day after a herd of buffaloes collided with the Mumbai-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat Express in Gujarat, Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Gujarat registered a case against the owners of cattle. The nose cone cover of the driver coach of the semi-high speed train which was damaged was fixed by the surgical team.
The railway police have not yet been able to identify the owners of the buffaloes so far and efforts are on to do so.
The newly-launched Mumbai Central-Gandhinagar Vande Bharat train collided with a herd of cattle at around 11:18 in the morning between Vatva and Maninagar stations in Gujarat.
"The RPF has lodged a first information report (FIR) against the unidentified owners of the buffaloes that came in the way of Vande Bharat train between Vatva and Maninagar railway stations in Ahmedabad," WR's senior spokesperson (Ahmedabad division) Jitendra Kumar Jayant was quoted by PTI as saying.

The FIR has been filed under section 147 of the Railways Act, 1989, RPF inspector Pradeep Sharma told PTI. "The FIR was registered on Thursday evening in connection with the incident in which four buffaloes were killed," he said.
The damaged nose cone was replaced with a new one at Mumbai Central depot and train was put back to service without any extra down time.
