Telangana CM accuses BJP of diversion tactics after FIR against Rahul Gandhi defending Dr. Ambedkar, highlighting religious vs political beliefs.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of adopting diversionary tactics after insulting Dr. B. R. Ambedkar filing a First Information Report (FIR) against Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
“This FIR is a diversion tactic in response to Rahul ji protesting against the Union Home Minister, for his highly objectionable words about our beloved and revered icon, Dr. Ambedkar,” the Chief Minister said in a post on ‘X’.
He further said, “With 26 FIRs already against him, Rahul ji will fight against the divisive agenda of BJP tirelessly. Sadly, the Delhi Police has not acted against BJP leaders who physically attacked our women MPs.”
Mr. Reddy alleged that the BJP registered an FIR against the Congress leader for defending Babasaheb B. R. Ambedkar’s legacy. “Rahul Gandhi is more religious than BJP leaders.” he added.
TPCC working president T. Jayaprakash Reddy said Rahul Gandhi was more religious than any BJP leader but unlike them Mr. Gandhi doesn’t use his religious beliefs for political benefits.
He said Mr. Gandhi raised his voice against the Union Minister Amit Shah as the latter insulted Dr. Ambedkar who was a god to the poor people. He said the fight against Mr. Shah would continue till he apologises to the nation and Rahul Gandhi will not rest till that is achieved.
Praising Mr. Gandhi for his uncompromising fight to save the values and the rights given by the Indian Constitution, he said the entire Congress community would walk with him in this fight to save the Constitution. Unfortunately, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has become the Prime Minister, based on the Indian Constitution was silent thus endorsing Mr. Shah’s views on Dr. Ambedkar.
