‘Eello Ji Sanam Hum Aa Gaye’: Salman Khan hypes ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ re-release with lyrics to hit song

Salman Khan on Monday shared a series of shirtless pictures on social media and captioned them with the lyrics of the iconic ‘Eello Ji Sanam Hum Aa Gaye’ song from ‘Andaz Apna Apna’

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Monday night shared some shirtless pictures on his social media handles, and as always, the internet couldn’t stop talking about the 59-year-old actor’s fitness and looks. Fascinatingly, netizens were also thrilled by a key aspect of the post: his caption

Salman captioned the post with the lyrics of the iconic ‘Eello Ji Sanam Hum Aa Gaye’ song from his 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna, which was officially re-released in a remastered 4K format on Friday. “Eello ji sanam hum aa gaye………….Ab itna bhi gussa karo nahin jaani (sic)“ wrote Salman.

The original song, with lyrics written by Majrooh Sultanpuri, was sung by Behroze Chatterjee and Vicky Mehta.

Andaz Apna Apna, co-starring Aamir Khan, collected ₹1.2 crore at the domestic box office during the opening weekend of its re-release. The film, though not a major success upon release, grew a substantial fandom over the years.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and presented by Vinay Pictures, the film featured Aamir and Salman as Amar and Prem, two youths attempting to woo a rich heiress. Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Viju Khote and Shehzad Khan rounded out the cast, while Govinda and Juhi Chawla — both prominent actors in the 1990s — made cheery cameos.

Interestingly, both Aamir and Salman weighed in on plans for a sequel. “We would all want Andaz Apna Apna 2. We have told Raj ji (director Rajkumar Santoshi) to work on the script. As soon as his script is ready, Salman and I would definitely want to work on it. I think the audience would love to watch Andaz Apna Apna 2... Raj ji is working on the script,” Aamir said during a press interaction on his 60th birthday. Salman, too, in a recent interview, reiterated his hopes for a sequel. “I hope so. Inshallah. God willing,” he told Zoom.

Salman’s last release was Sikandar, which amassed over ₹50 crore in three days since its release. The film marked Salman’s return to the big screen as a solo lead after Tiger 3.
