No place for exploitation of students or monopoly in booming sector, says Education Minister
The booming education technology sector, which has benefited from the disruptions in traditional education during the pandemic, is likely to face regulation soon, with ongoing discussions among Central Ministries to frame a common policy, according to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Speaking at a virtual event on Monday to distribute coupons worth ₹253 crore for over 12 lakh socially and economically disadvantaged students to get free access to EdTech courses, Mr. Pradhan said, “There is no place for exploitation or monopoly” in the sector.

Devotees of Lord Ayyappa will now have an opportunity to present their own devotional songs at the hill shrine of Sabarimala, thanks to an initiative by the TDB. The temple management board has decided to include newly composed devotional songs by ordinary devotees in the list of songs played through the public address system at the shrine. At present only devotional songs rendered by renowned singers such as K J Yesudas and Jayavijaya are played at Sabarimala, a Travancore Devaswom Board statement said.
