Earthquake in Sikkim, tremors felt in north Bengal

An earthquake of intensity measuring 5.4 on the Richter Scale struck Sikkim Bhutan border late on Monday evening. The epicentre of the earthquake was recorded at Longitude 88.84 degrees East and Latitude of 27.23 degrees North. The earthquake occurred at 20.49 hrs. The tremors were felt in districts of north Bengal including Siliguri. Tremors were felt in north Bengal like Malda and Darjeeling district. People came out of their homes after the impact of the earthquake. There were no reports of any damages due to the earthquake. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is in north Bengal campaigning for the fourth phase of polling. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar spoke to Ms. Banerjee and she said that she was safe.More Related News
