Delhi University has cleared the proposal to name its new colleges after VD Savarkar, PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, among other eminent personalities, VC PC Joshi shared exclusive details with India Today.
Another controversy might be brewing for Delhi University as it has cleared the name of right-wing leader VD Savarkar among others to name new colleges and facilitation centres in time to come. On Wednesday, Delhi University academic council has cleared a set of names for the nomenclature of the new establishments. Among them, former top BJP leaders like former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former ministers Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley are the prominent names. Other names like the first home minister of the country’ Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, first CM of Delhi Chaudhary Brahm Prakash and famous Dalit leader Jyotiba Bai Phule have also been cleared by the council.
