Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar orders maintenance and restoration of ornamental plants along Bengaluru's roads and dividers.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has directed the Urban Development Department to take steps to restore and maintain ornamental plants along road dividers and roadsides under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) jurisdiction, noting that several stretches are currently in poor condition. Mr. Shivakumar said that many ornamental plants grown on medians and roadsides are not being properly nourished, resulting in them drying up.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed authorities to immediately begin clearing dried waste and debris from these areas. Further, he called for the preparation of a structured work plan to carry out maintenance activities on a regular basis and instructed that the implementation of the plan be reviewed in every meeting.
