
CM M. K. Stalin visits parents of eight-year-old Coimbatore girl whose organs were donated after brain death

CM M. K. Stalin visits the family of Venba, an eight-year-old organ donor, honoring her legacy and parents' humanitarian choice.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Friday visited the residence of Venba, a eight-year-old girl from Coimbatore who was declared brain dead and whose organs were donated with the consent of her parents.
Venba, a Class II student of a private school in Coimbatore, lived with her family on Thadagam Road in R.S. Puram. Venbha fell unconscious on Monday (February 23, 2026) due to high blood pressure and brain haemorrhage. She was taken to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to Kovai Medical Center and Hospital. She did not respond to treatment, and a team of doctors declared her brain dead on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
Following this, and with the consent of her parents, her kidneys, liver, skin and eyes were donated to benefit patients in need.
The Chief Minister met her parents, S. Suganya and T. Santhosh, councillor of Ward 73 of the Coimbatore Corporation and chairman of the Town Planning Committee of the civic body. He conveyed his condolences and thanked them for consenting to organ donation during a period of personal grief.
In a post on X Mr. Stalin said Venba would live on in the hearts of people through her gift of life. He expressed solidarity with her parents for their humanitarian decision taken despite their loss.
The Chief Minister said Tamil Nadu continues to be among the leading States in the country in facilitating organ donation, enabling hundreds of patients to receive life-saving transplants.
