The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the makers of KD - The Devil over alleged use of vulgar and suggestive song lyrics. The controversial track has been removed from social media following public backlash.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the makers of Kannada film, KD - The Devil, over the use of allegedly vulgar and suggestive lyrics in Sarse Ninna Seraga Sarse (Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke in the Hindi version of the film). The commission demanded the removal of the track, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, from all social media platforms.
After the release of the song on YouTube, the makers faced severe backlash over the song's 'vulgar and inappropriate' lyrics and visuals.
As per an IANS report, advocate and social activist Vineet Jindal has filed a complaint with the Delhi Police requesting legal action against those who are associated with the song. The complaint highlighted the "sexually suggestive and obscene lyrics" that are not suitable for public consumption.
In the complaint, the advocate-activist also demanded the removal of the song from social media platforms. The complainant mentioned that this song negatively influences younger audiences and promotes obscenity.
The lyrics were written by Raqueeb Alam.
After severe backlash, the makers have taken down the Hindi and Kannada versions of the song from YouTube. Social media users slammed the makers for the use of double-entendre dialogues.
