Delhi CM inspects road repair work on Outer Ring Road, ensuring pothole-free roads before monsoon with high-quality execution.
After a midnight inspection of the ongoing road repair work on the Outer Ring Road stretch between Madhuban Chowk and Mukarba Chowk, Delhi Chief Minister on Tuesday reiterated that the government is committed to provide pothole-free roads in the Capital before the arrival of monsoon.
Ms. Gupta directed the officials to prioritise public convenience and ensure there is no negligence in execution.
“Our government is making every possible effort to improve Delhi’s roads. Today, Ms. Gupta inspected construction of a 4-km-long stretch from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk, to ensure high-quality execution and timely completion,” a government statement read.
The project, being executed by Public Works Department Northern Zone at a cost of ₹12.85 crore, involves strengthening both sides of the Outer Ring Road alongside the elevated corridor, said the CM.
The work is being carried out using cold milling and hot recycling techniques, including a two-layer reinforcement process, for long-lasting durability.
She also highlighted that the existing road layers are being removed through cold milling to maintain proper levelling.
Thermoplastic paint, glow studs, and median markers are being installed to enhance night-time visibility, while a 50 mm thick stone matrix asphalt layer is being laid near the elevated flyover, she said.
