
CBSE’s yardstick in Class 12 evaluation likely to be pre-boards, performance in previous exams

It is being expected that the marks of pre-boards and previous exams will play a role in the evaluation process for CBSE Class 12 marks.
It is being expected that CBSE Class 12 students whose final exams were cancelled may be judged by their performance in the pre-boards held by the schools earlier and also according to their scores in Class 10 and 11. A committee constituted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) under Education Ministry Joint Secretary Vipin Kumar is learnt to have zeroed in on the performance in previous exams as a key factor in deciding the results. The CBSE had last month released a 17-page circular for assigning marks to Class 10 students in an almost identical situation. CBSE Class 10 exams were scheduled to be conducted from May 4 this year but were cancelled due to the pandemic.
