BRS MLCs lodge complaint against news channel
HYDERABAD
A delegation of BRS MLCs on Tuesday lodged a complaint with Chairman of the Legislative Council Gutha Sukender Reddy against a regional language television news channel seeking action against it for insulting MLC T. Ravinder Rao by a news anchor during a debate recently.
The delegation was led by Leader of the Opposition in the Council S. Madhusudana Chary and comprised Deshapathi Srinivas, Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, L. Ramana, Naveen Kumar Reddy and others. Mr. Chary said insulting the BRS MLC after inviting him to the debate without the latter using any unparliamentary and objectionable language was uncalled for.
Condemning the incident, he said it was not an attack by a news anchor on an MLC but an attack on the Council itself. The Opposition party had earlier banned the news channel from coverage of its (party’s) events.

The draft policy for “Responsible Digital Use Among Students”, released on Monday by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has recommended that parents set structured routines with clear screen-time rules and prioritise privacy, safety, and open conversation with children on digital well-being.
