Brahmastra, starring the Power Couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead, released in the theatres on September 9. It was made on a huge budget of about Rs 300 crore. The film witnessed a great run at the box office on Day 1 as it minted a total amount of Rs 75 crore globally. The film is right on track to emerge as a blockbuster. Amid back-to-back flops in Bollywood and the boycott trend, Brahmastra managed to perform phenomenally great. As per the opening weekend collection mentioned by Box Office Worldwide, Brahmastra has garnered Rs 225 crore worldwide. The film released on 5100 screens in India and 3800 screens in overseas with a total of 8900 screens.

Brahmastra also scored the highest nonholiday opening number all India beating Ranbir Kapoor’s earlier blockbuster Sanju (Rs 120 crore) and Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 114.93 crore).

Brahmastra is a superhero drama that revolves around a simpleton who shares a special bond with fire. It features Alia Bhatt as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. The cast includes Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy and Amitabh Bachchan. It is directed by Ayan Mukerji. The storyline of Brahmastra follows Shiva, a DJ, who learns about his strange connection with the element of fire. While he emerges as the Agniastra himself, the film follows his strange connection with the Brahmstra, a supernatural weapon that is said to be able to destroy the universe. On the other hand, Junoon, the pawn of the dark forces, is also on a quest to get hold of the Brahmastra.

Ever since its release on April 14, Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter 2 made waves at the box office collections. The film released in multiple languages and received positive response from the audience. The makers also hinted at a possible sequel to KGF: Chapter 2. Due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the film was postponed multiple times.
