Most of us had several kinds of bitter experiences while booking and travelling through app-based cab services. From getting refused at peak office hours to payment related issues, the list will be longer than the Great Wall of China. However, an experience shared by a Twitter user from Bengaluru named Vikas Gowda literally takes the cake. You’ll be horrified to scroll through the Twitter thread.
Vikas took to the micro-blogging site to share his experience with Ola Cabs. “*WARNING. AVOID @Olacabs AT ALL COST*”, the tweet started on a firm note. “Had booked an outstation trip with @moon_natz and her parents to travel back to Mysore. An hour and a half into the trip, some rowdies come in their two wheelers and create a blockade. These rowdies / collection agents threaten the driver to pay up his past installments right at that moment else they'll confiscate the vehicle. They even ask my family members to get down and figure out our ride ahead,” he added.

While this scuffle was happening, Vikas was continuously in touch with the emergency helpline number provided by the cab company- but in vain. The customer care agent advised Vikas to book another cab and complete his journey rather than solving the situation.
I ask for this issue to be escalated and in the meantime I go drive down to pick them up as they have pretty much abandoned them on the highway. The agents have already confiscated the car and gone away.
And that’s not all! Vikas was charged an additional fee even after his sour experience. “If this is the quality of their emergency response team, after all the untoward incidents that have happened in the ride-hailing space, we still are a long way away from making our cab rides safe for women, families and generally people,” Vikas wrote with concern.
